Barnes  Thursday, August 22, 2002

This goes out to all members currently on Leave of Absence status...which are..

Knight Fyori
Squire BabyGirl
Squire Cadmus Fane
Squire Rickster
Page Emily

This is a Recall to Active Duty. You must report to me by September 7th, telling me that you are indeed ready to return to active duty, or need more time off. Should you need more time off, you will need to tell me why you have taken this long, and still require more time. Your request for more time will be considered by the High Council. If approved you will be given a maximum of one month. If not, you will be expected to return to active duty. Should you not, you will be removed from the guild.

You may report in to me by emailing me at Barnes@LSDarkness.com .

Commpassion Virtue Bug
Lothar  Tuesday, August 20, 2002

I'm sure anyone who does the Compassion Virtue has gathered, or probably read about there being a bug with escorting NPCs. I found out about it personally after dropping from Knight to Follower the other week, and wanted to top myself off again. I ignored it at first, but tonight, I tried it again, and to no avail, it didn't work. So I paged a GM, and quickly got a response in 2 minutes due to it being late at night. Here is what he said...

"GM_Zilo tells Lothar: Hello, this is a known issue that the dev team is aware of and are working quickly to correct. we apologize for any problems it may cause. Take care."

Well guess that confirms it. I just love the way GMs talk, so generic... I wonder if thats the answer for everything thats a "known issue". *shrugs*

Poll Script Now Working
Lothar  Monday, August 19, 2002

Thanks goes out to Belz our absent, yet present Elder & domain-owner. He's given me the password to the Poll It Script, pretty simple stuff, you can now go vote on what your favorite cake is, because everyone seems to have an opinion on it, lol.

Enjoy!

Barnes Interviewed by Stratics
Lothar  Thursday, August 15, 2002

Despite them not realizing that a person named "Stonekeeper" isn't the actual GM of the guild, and calling barnes Stonekeeper in the interview, I think the interview was very nice and informative. You should all go check it out...

Day 3 of Website Updates
Lothar  Wednesday, August 14, 2002

I have been working most of this day on revising the Application, which I can now say is done! *wipes brow*

It would of taken much less time if I knew what I was doing, hehe. To current members, this doesn't change anything, but to the High Council, and Storm Seekers Units, I'm sure they will be pleased with the new revision. I have done nothing but make the read more pleasable to the eye. The application when I took a look at it wasn't in the best of shapes. Not knowing how to resize any of the tables, or Field Boxes, it took me several hours of fiddling to figure it all out.

The Application Intro page, that you first view when going ot the App Link on your left has also been summarized a bit more, for an easier read. I think this will make things a little easier for HC, SS, and new applicants alike. The new App Intro is very straight forward in its approach, as there had seemed to have been some confusion on some things when we'd recieve Apps.

Hopefully we will have an easier time reviewing and Interviewing new applicants.

My next step in the Website revisions is to bring the Units Section up to date. If you take a look now, you'll see how ancient it is.

Events Calander
Lothar  Monday, August 12, 2002

The Events Calander is now being updated regularly by Radar, so please be sure to check on it for the latest on events.

Also, on a side note, I will now be using the greeting space about for new members joining. As you can see, we have two new members, Raven Stormwing and Harmony that joined us today, after our 2 hour Recruitment Spree I decided to do at the last moment, hehe. Sorry to Barnes, for it running right up, and into a few mins of your Event. ;)

This frontpage should start being viewed regularly from now on along with the Forums as we are now updating it. Whenever I post a new member in the above Welcome Table, that will mean their name has been added to the Roster as well, so be sure to add their ICQ# to your Contact List.

Things are going strong, I'm very pleased with this guild right now, lets keep it up!

*Official* Guild Roster Is Up!
Lothar  Monday, August 12, 2002

Thats right, click on the "Guild Roster" link on the left side of this message to view the full Roster. For those members who don't have everyone's ICQ#s, you now do! Remember to be sure to mention you are a LSD member with your name when you ask for authorization when adding any new ICQ#s.

I will be updating the roster weekly after every Guild Meeting, now we can get to focusing on more important things, like asking ourselves why so many people are on LoA, and Inactive Status..!? (yes, I don't know either).

Character Name Change Program
Barnes  Wednesday, August 7, 2002

And you thought it was cool when they said necromancy was actually coming...

[News taken from www.uo.com ]

Maybe you never thought your crafter mule would become one of your favorite characters, but now his embarrassing name is being plastered all over Britannia thanks to your Maker's Mark. Perhaps you've inherited your characters from your mother, and in your humble opinion she made up some of the worst names ever in the history of RPGs. But you like these characters a lot - if only there was some way to give them a little dignity, some opportunity for respect....

And now for $29.99, you can do just that! The new Character Name Change service is here!

That's right, by using this service we will now change your character's name for you! A warrior named "Girlface" no longer need worry about the taunts of his peers as he takes on a heroic new name like "Uther Daemonbane," "lAmEdAmE" can raise her head as a dignified member of society as she becomes "Mordella the Wise," and "mule 1" no longer needs to take a back seat to your "main" because of his generic or uninspired name!

Here's how the process works:

First, contact our customer service representatives at 866-543-5435 (option 2, then 2) to get the process started. Once they have verified your registration information for your account, they'll apply the service fee and turn you over to the GM staff. They'll change your name and voila - the long-lost self-esteem for all of those warriors known as "asdf"!

There are few things you'll need to know before getting your name changed:

*The Character Name Change Service is currently only available on the
North American, European, and Oceania shards.

*To help expedite the process, we ask that you please remove your
character from his or her guild and faction beforehand.

*At the time of the re-naming, a Game Master will need to confirm the
appropriateness of the new name.

*The new name can't include any apostrophe ' symbols.

*The new name for the character cannot be longer than 16 characters
(about the same length as when characters are first created).

This new service is available NOW! Call 866-543-5435 (option 2, then 2), a toll free number, Monday through Friday, from 9:00am to 7:00pm CT & Saturday and Sunday, from 10:00am to 4:00pm CT.

Ok, so its not a name change deed...but it gets the job done, for a price. Whos gonna bust out the green?
