Kate Middleton is a lifelong tennis fan and she doesn’t miss an opportunity to attend Wimbledon every year. In fact, the Duchess of Cambridge is the godmother of the All England Tennis and Croquet Club. Today Kate stepped out to watch Harriet Dart and Christina McHale perform, and we couldn’t help but admire her match day outfit.
Kate wore a white Suzannah shirtdress with a black belt at the waist and accessorized it with an Alexander McQueen bag and a pair of Ray-Ban Wayfarer II 55mm sunglasses. (If you prefer tortoiseshell, buy them here.) Ray-Ban is known for creating stylish and sophisticated sunglasses, and their iconic Wayfarer style has been a bestseller for years.
These lightweight frames have a subtle cat’s eye shape and smart crystal lenses that provide 100% UV protection. If you don’t wear sunglasses, now is a good time to start. They actually help prevent sun damage to your eyes and reduce the risk of skin cancer around the eyes. When shopping for sunglasses, it is best to look for lenses with 100% UV protection, as they provide protection from both UVA and UVB rays. UVA rays have longer wavelengths and pass through glasses, and UVB rays are the worst for your skin, so wearing sunglasses and sunscreen is the best defense against them.
These Ray-Ban sunglasses tick all the boxes and have a frame wide enough to protect your eyes and eyebrows from the sun. The pair at Nordstrom is available in a Striped Havana design, but if you prefer a black pair like the Duchess, you can go for this slightly different pair from Ray-Ban. It has thinner metal arms and a keyhole bridge to help shape your face. Bonus: They also offer 100% UV protection.
Serena Williams will take on Italian tennis player Giulia Gatto-Monticone later today, so we can only hope to see her best friend and Kate’s sister-in-law, Meghan Markle, make an appearance. We loved seeing the Duchess’s duo watch the semi-finals last year. Game, together, match!
