The Duchess of Sussex is known for her influential style, whether she wears glamorous evening dresses or keeps it casual with jeans and a button-down.

While not all of her fashion choices are accessible to everyone (we’re looking at you, custom designer suits), the mother of two still enjoys incorporating affordable styles into her everyday wardrobe.

Case in point: one of his must-have pairs of sunglasses, the Le Specs Bandwagon Sunglasses (buy them in Canada herebuy them in usa here) currently costs $100 CAD/$69 USD.

The details

Le Specs is an Australian brand that was founded on the principle of creating high quality, cutting-edge designs at affordable prices. The Specs honored the famous faces of stars like Beyoncé, Bella Hadid, Rihanna and Lady Gaga, while keeping the price below $150.

The 1950s-inspired Bandwagon Sunglasses feature a matte tortoiseshell finish and an anti-glare polarized lens with 100% UV protection.

The 40-year-old royal has been pictured with her trusty pair of Le Specs frames since 2018. In July 2019, Markle wore the Bandwagon glasses as she attended the women’s singles final at Wimbledon alongside her sister-in-law Kate Middleton .

After seeing the elegant Duchess rock the affordable sunglasses, I was inspired to pick up a pair last year – and they don’t disappoint.

For years I wore my Ray Ban Classic Wayfarer sunglasses, but was looking for a new pair with a more rounded shape. The Le Specs pair was a perfect fit for the style I was looking for, and it didn’t hurt, they’re also about half the price of a pair of Ray-Bans.

On my recent beach vacation, I brought my pair of Le Specs and wore them almost every day.

The frames are light enough that I forget I was wearing them most of the time, and they did a great job of protecting my eyes from the harsh Florida sun.

Personally, I think the rounded frames are a flattering shape that would suit most faces, and the neutral tortoiseshell print pairs well with just about any outfit.

The only downside to these frames is that they only come with a canvas carrying case. For this reason, you’ll want to be gentle if you plan to keep them in a backpack or purse, to ensure they don’t get accidentally crushed.

what others say

Although these sunglasses have already received the royal seal of approval, Nordstrom shoppers were also impressed with their lightweight construction and affordable price.

“GREAT purchase! You can’t beat the price. Fantastic quality for far less than I paid for my old Ray-Bans or Tiffany sunglasses,” wrote one reviewer. “They’re strong and they’re polarized! Also, I usually struggle to find shades that match my narrow face and these were perfect.”

“I’m the type of person who constantly misplaces/loses my glasses in a body of water, so these are good glasses for running. Highly recommend taking the bandwagon,” shared another.

Some reviewers cautioned that they noticed the mini logos on the arms “get caught in your hair,” which garnered a few points for the functionality of these sunglasses. I have shorter hair and had no issues catching it, but that may be something to consider before adding this pair to your cart.

The verdict

If you’re a fan of the royal family and are looking for an affordable way to incorporate some of their style into your own wardrobe, Le Specs Bandwagon sunglasses are an easy addition to your wardrobe.

Lightweight frames offer polarized lenses at an affordable price, with a versatile design that can be worn repeatedly. Some shoppers weren’t a fan of the metal accents on the temples, but overall these affordable sunglasses are a great buy this spring.
